Dear Santa,

Hello Santa hope your year has been jolly and now your elves now can have a rest. I will leave out some cookies for you so you can get fat and I will give you some water this time otherwise you won't be able to make to next year.
This year I want an Iphone so I hope mum brought me that I know this sounds like a lot but I would like a beam out in my back yard that way I can practice my routines for gym.
I would like a bigger tramp that way Jess won't fall off and I can do my round off front flick without hurting my self.
I would like food in my santa sack so I can eat it and become fat and then I will have to go for a run to burn it off lucky me, and guess what Santa you could join me.

I would like a bubble wrap carpet and once they pop they un-pop.
I also want a microphone set, that way I can sing but could you drop that off at my dad's house as it would make to much noise and it would make my mum go crazy.
I would love my own hair straighter at my dad's as well.

Curling.

Curling is a unisex sport and even people in wheelchairs can play. It was invented in medeveil
Scotland in February 1541. It came to the olympics in 1198 but it came to the paralimpics in 2006. Another name for this sport is chess on ice. It is a no concat sport.

There are two teams for each game and in those teams there are 4 players. You need curling brooms, curling shoes and a special curling granite stone they are 19 kg's.

Each player slides a stone to the end if the ice sheet towards a target which has 4 rings and the closest stone to the center wins. There are world wide competitions the biggest one is the World Curling Federation (wcf) cup which our own country New Zealand takes part in. Kate Caithnes is the president of WCF.

Teen Sprit.

Teen Sprit was released on August 7, 2011.

 Its is directed by Gill Junger and it stars Cassie and Lindsey were the main characters.

 The movie is about a two teenage girls, the popular girl's name is Amber and the unpopular one is Lisa. Amber is about to be crowned prom queen, but she dies. Amber has to transform Lisa and make her be crowned queen at the make up prom. Amber who dies comes back life, but only the unpopular girl could see and hear her. Amber transforms Lisa into the popular girl but Amber made her so popular she was mean to every one. If Amber gave up transforming her then Amber would have to go to hell, but if he carries on she goes to heaven but you have to watch it to find out were she goes.

It recommend this movie for teenage girls so 13 and up.

TGC Orientation.

Today all of the year 8 girls from Tauranga Intermediate School went to Girls College for orientation day. We all bused there. Once we got there we waited out side for a while and it was raining so we got a bit wet we cramped into the old gym and we listened to the Mrs Ferguson and our year 9 deans Mrs Keightley and Mrs Glaser-Brown. Then the head girl talked to us her name was Adriana bird she talked to us about getting into every thing. We got showed around the school Britney, Nicole, Jess, Sasha and Kaitlyn. We went into a class room and the teacher talked about our college classes. We got showed around and got told about things. Once we finished we went back to the class and got a a pack and a free pen. We went back to the hall and then got on the bus and went back to school.

Viktoria Komova

Viktoria is a gymast from russia she is the 2010 youth champion for uneven bars and vault champion and bronze floor exercise medalist. In 2011uneven bars and silver medalist. For the 2012 Olympics she is an all round silver medalist.

She started gymnastics when she was four years old and lucky for her her farther was a gymast as well.

Viktoria Komova is my favorite gymnast I love watching her comps in 2012 Olympics on her beam routine she fell of the beam twice and didn't land her dismount so I din't she would of got any placing for that.

Personality test.

Yesterday in 3rd block a man with small ears came to our school and talked about attitude. He was very funny. Dave told every one that every one is an animal and we could take a personality test and it would tell us what animal we were. I took the test I turned out it be 36% otter            otter means that your very fun I am also 21% bever 18% golden retriever and 26% loin. Dave talked about him self and some funny storys.

12 Hour relay.

A sunny day what a lovely day we start the fun run and run away we make 11 laps but we needed the hose so out it came. 

The smell of food flowed under my nose and I ate it all in one gulp.

 The actives were next out came the slippery slide and the army net our bums got wet and our arms were sore and a few fell down on the floor. 

We played tug a war but sadly we got betten by some orange people. 

We ate lots of food I got really full. 

We had the talent show at the end of the day it was sad to say goodbye to all the fun and games.

12 hour relay disaster

The look on Mr Scholes's face spelled T for trouble as he turn his head turned towards the front gate. A man with a gun came into the school while 1200 kids where out doing the 12 hour relay. Mr Scholes ran to the office and the office rang the bell and told every one there was a lockdown kids ran into the class's close to the field the man came in and shot the gun the bullet flew and hit the bouncy thing. Thunder came and the guy caught on fire and the sky was gray hotdogs fell from the sky the kids that were running got taken by aliens this was a disaster lucky there were some kids from rimu left and they change the scores around so totara came last and we
came first.

Drugs

This term room 42 had our life education sessions on of the topics we had been learning about is drugs. Every one is our class has made a presentation about a drug of our choice. I my presentation to a class member and they have given me feedback.

Advice

I've got some older friends (I'm 13 they're 14/15 who have invited me to a party on Saturday night at someone's house. I'm pretty sure everyone there will be drinking alcohol before. I've never had alcohol before. I'm going to tell my parents that  I'm staying the night at my friend house. I feel quite nervous, cos I know it's bad. What should I do?

At your age you can get peer pressured into drinking. You know that is bad to drink so I think you should delay your choice. You can try tell you parents that you want to go to the party but maybe you could sent them text every half hour or hour to tell them you are ok.

If you get peer pressured try walking a way or change the subjet.

Dear Jess,

Today when you go to school you need to tell a teacher or your parent about your two friends. Keeping it to your self to a bad idea.
Tell your teacher or parent where they are smoking so they can find them. Please make sure you don't start smoking with them or you will get in trouble as well. Try hang out with some other people so you are not around them when they smoke.
Well done for telling me. If you need more advice you can call 0800 whats up. When you call them you tell them whats up and then they could give you some more things to do about it.

Teenagers and drugs.

Kevin Greer aged 42 admits to giving drugs to teenage girls. 

Kevin   parked his van outside burnside high school. The man told the teenage girls age 15-16 that he had cannabis and he would give it to them if they let him take a picture of there body.

The police found $14000 dollars in cash and he had over $1000 worth of cannabis. The police removed the pictures off Kevins camera and cellphone. Police found cannabis at his home as well.

The police dropped 6 charges on the man. Over all Kevin sold cannabis to school girls.

Alcohol is the most common drug used in New Zealand because it is very accessible and large amount of people admit using it at a young age.

What are class A, B and C drugs

What is in class Abc drugs ? Different drugs are put into ABC drugs such as herion, Cocaine and cannabis. In class A drugs there are a different drugs than class B and C drugs.

If you get caught how long do you stay in prison ?

Class A. 6 months in jail and $1,000 fine.

Class B . you have 3 years in jail or a fine of $500.

Class C. 3 months on jail or a fine of $500.

If you are under 17 you will go to youth court for having any class of drug. 

       

Social Dance

Last night we had Rimu house social dance my class room had to bring sweets. I got there just before it started.I wore a coral colored dress and my hair down I was going to curl it but it wouldn't curl. We did the change of partner dance, change of partner samba, the cha cha and  the cha cha slide and there are a few more. We had some food and drinks and they crowned the prince and princess and King and Queen. The prince was storm and princess Sheridan they're year 7's The King was Nathan and the Queen was Angel they were year 8's.

In 2011 My family and I had to go to Rarotonga for a wedding. We spent a week there and I had been badly sunburnt but lucky it cleared of before the wedding. On the second to last day of being in Rarotonga they had their wedding.
We had to wear a nice dress it so very hot so most of us wore a dress. The men wore te-shirts and shorts but they had to be nice.  They had reception after wards but I didn't go we got baby sat by a guy named popcorn.

Last night after school Jessica M Kate Anna Jessica C and Jade came to my house before the disco we had afternoon tea. Jess, Jess and I went at ninja. Kate, Anna and Jade went as fashion people. Kate, Jade and Anna painted Jess, Jess and mine faces black. The girls got changed and the pizza came we ordered 8 pizzas. We sat around the table and ate it. We got changed and did our hair and spray painted it. Jessica Mum came and Jess and I went in her car and the others went in my mums car. When we got there every one turned around and looked at us we couldn't stop laughing. We saw Nicole and we sat outside for most of it but in the middle of the disco Jess, Jess and I took off our face paint and took down our hair. It took a long time to get the spray paint out of my hair.

Cat falls from 11 story building.

A  2 year old cat called Wassabi from Alaska has survived a fall from a 11 story building. The cat was chasing a bug and it fell out the window. She fell into the parking lot and some one found her in the rain coved in blood. The cat has had surgery and has a broken leg and has pink cast.

Movie review. Under Cover Angel.

Under Cover Angel was made in 1999 May 16 in Canada It is directed by Bryan Michel Stoller.

The main cast. 

  

This is a movie about a little girl called Jenny (6) and he Mum has to go to Canada so Melissa her  Mum leaves her with a guy called Harrison that Melissa meet in collage. Harrison is a writer a works from home. Harrison Becomes really close with Jenny. Harrison meets this girl called Holly Anderson and Jenny Try's to make them go on dates.

 Harrison tells Jenny storys before she goes to bed Jenny records him speaking. Jenny take the recording to Holly and she types them out. Jenny wants to stay but her mum comes back earlier because Harrison finds out that he is Jennys Dad. Jenny doesn't want to go to canada but her mum take her away. I haven't watched the rest so you you have nothing to do go on to youtube or go to your nearest video store and watch it. 

This movie has a rating 5.9 out of 10. I Remend this to Adult and 12 and up.

For home work we had to come up with a way of measuring a tree without climbing it. So I searched up on goggle how to mesure a tree and it said you coud mesure it by it's shadow. We got a tape mesure and we started to mesure the shadow the tape measure wouldn't reach all the way so we added all of it. It came out to be 17.7 meters.

A funny story.

On Tuesday Kodi, Zane, Matt and Conner were making a movie and conner thew the cookie pad at kodi head but Kodi dogged it and it flew over his head and it flew over the fence and down a cliff. Conner and kodi didn't tell the teacher because they didn't want to get in trouble. The next day travis told Mrs Mills and they had to go down and find it. But to there surprise they found 3 boys down there trying to skip school the 3 boys saw them and ran up the hill they also had a scooter with them they hid up in the bushes and hide the scooter, Matt siad " get back to school to lern your maths!" and Zane siad " yea get back to school and lern your algebra." They 3 boys got there scooter and went of the Merrival. Zane, Matt and stuff got Mr sholes.

My comp on Friday.

On Friday last week I competed at Impact for my gymnastics comp. Green park, Papamoa Intermediate, Mount Intermediate and Tauranga Intermediate all competed. At 10:30 we were meant to be warming up and starting but they still hadn't finished mini tramp so we started at 11 instead. We all went to the floor to start stretching. We found the cone where we had to line up. We went to the beam first. We practised on the beam and I did my routine so I didn't mess up this time. My time finally came for me to do my routine. I nailed my routine, I got 8.1 out of 10. The judge was very mean. They only reason how I knew my score is because Sattori and I looked over her shoulder haha. Next we went to the floor. We lined up and I was fourth. I did really well. I think I could of done my handstand for longer but I got 8.4. ext was volt. We got two practices before the real thing again I was fourth, run, run, run jump crushed it.Again I got 8.4. So overall I got 24.9.

Bulling.

When some post a pic of a person thats been hurt and they say on the post "like" and if you don't you  have no heart. That makes me sad because they are using people that are hurt for likes. I don't like the way they use people they should post it and I think they should keep it to themselves .

When some talks behind somes back. When people gossip it turns into rumors and a lot of rumors aren't true. To all the people that make up rumors STOP and think before you say things to other people.

I can be quiet in class but around friends I am loud.

Week 1-2

For home work we had to choose a 3D object at home (e.g. piece of furniture). Measure all dimensions and record  them in a table. Draw an accurate scaled down diagram of the object by hand or using Google Sketch up. My drawing will clearly resemble the object. Include all measurements on the diagram. Include the scale.

My Language.

Sign Language.

For six weeks all year 8's are learning a language and we have been put in groups for sign language or mandarin. I am doing sign language. We have been learning how to have a normal convocation with others. First we watched a video to see the actions. Secondly we got a worksheet and had to have a convocation with the person next to us. We had another lesson on Wednesday but I was at choir so I couldn't go.

My holiday earthquake.

I had been down in Wellington for most of my holidays and on the 21 of July at 5:09 I got the fright of my life. I was sitting with my cousin Ella in her room. We all of a sudden felt a shake and the cabinet in her room rattling our beds started to shake and so did the floor underneath us, my uncle yelled "get under the desk kids!" Ella hid under the desk and I went under the door way. My heart was pumping and I was scared out of my shorts, I saw a trophy fall from the cabinet the house rocked and then it suddenly had came to a stop. I ran down stair afterwards and my cousin got hit my the oxford dictionary but he was ok it was really funny.  It was an earthquake. I was shaking for that hole day I couldn't sleep for two nights! Lucky we had a few little earthquakes before the 6.5 one so we had a plan when the big one came. The next morning there was another one and my dad had come down from tauranga and he was so excited that he felt an earthquake because it was his first earthquake. It was really exciting but scary at the time. They Made a big deal about it on the news but it wasn't as bad as they said.

Term 2 overview.

Term 2. Main events.

This Term year 8's house went on school camp for a week. We stayed at out school camp site. My favorite activities were rock climbing, abseiling and high ropes. Cooking night was a really fun night, but the best night of all was sleeping out side. We stayed up till 1:30am!

This term we had our school cross country and this year I came 156. We ran with 260 girls. 

Science fair was this term. My topic was to see if coke or V affects your heart rate. I got no yellow sticker but thats ok.

Term2. My highlight 

My highlight was camp because we became closer as a class and I made more friends. It has been my favorite week of the year.

Term2. What I need to improve on.

I need to improve on my maths, and get a better score on the IKAN test. I need to work on my punctuation and I need to learn how to spell harder words. 

 

Production.

Yesterday morning most of the school went to go see our school production. We went in buses to Baycourt we had to sit in 3's because there were not enough seats. We we got there we had to line up. Grace, Nicole, Kate, Jess and I where waiting in line together we got bored and we started standing on each other feet, the door finally opened and we all cheered. Rimu house all sat together at the front. We sat there for a little bit and then the show started we saw Aimee and we cheered her on "GO AIMEE!" we shouted, it was bit weird because no one else apart from us cheered her on. After 45 minutes we had a brake that lasted from around 5-10 minutes. The show carried on I would say more but that would take ages. At the end all the people in the shows stod up, Once it finished we lined back up outside the sun hurt our eyes and went back to school on the buses.
