My holiday earthquake.

I had been down in Wellington for most of my holidays and on the 21 of July at 5:09 I got the fright of my life. I was sitting with my cousin Ella in her room. We all of a sudden felt a shake and the cabinet in her room rattling our beds started to shake and so did the floor underneath us, my uncle yelled "get under the desk kids!" Ella hid under the desk and I went under the door way. My heart was pumping and I was scared out of my shorts, I saw a trophy fall from the cabinet the house rocked and then it suddenly had came to a stop. I ran down stair afterwards and my cousin got hit my the oxford dictionary but he was ok it was really funny.  It was an earthquake. I was shaking for that hole day I couldn't sleep for two nights! Lucky we had a few little earthquakes before the 6.5 one so we had a plan when the big one came. The next morning there was another one and my dad had come down from tauranga and he was so excited that he felt an earthquake because it was his first earthquake. It was really exciting but scary at the time. They Made a big deal about it on the news but it wasn't as bad as they said.

Term 2 overview.

Term 2. Main events.

This Term year 8's house went on school camp for a week. We stayed at out school camp site. My favorite activities were rock climbing, abseiling and high ropes. Cooking night was a really fun night, but the best night of all was sleeping out side. We stayed up till 1:30am!

This term we had our school cross country and this year I came 156. We ran with 260 girls. 

Science fair was this term. My topic was to see if coke or V affects your heart rate. I got no yellow sticker but thats ok.

Term2. My highlight 

My highlight was camp because we became closer as a class and I made more friends. It has been my favorite week of the year.

I need to improve on my maths, and get a better score on the IKAN test. I need to work on my punctuation and I need to learn how to spell harder words. 

 

Production.

Yesterday morning most of the school went to go see our school production. We went in buses to Baycourt we had to sit in 3's because there were not enough seats. We we got there we had to line up. Grace, Nicole, Kate, Jess and I where waiting in line together we got bored and we started standing on each other feet, the door finally opened and we all cheered. Rimu house all sat together at the front. We sat there for a little bit and then the show started we saw Aimee and we cheered her on "GO AIMEE!" we shouted, it was bit weird because no one else apart from us cheered her on. After 45 minutes we had a brake that lasted from around 5-10 minutes. The show carried on I would say more but that would take ages. At the end all the people in the shows stod up, Once it finished we lined back up outside the sun hurt our eyes and went back to school on the buses.

S3. Become a tech angel and provide technical support for other students.

Last Friday My friend Jessica and I went to Tauranga Primary School to teach them how to record them selfs reading a book. We went to room 17,16 and them we took one child by one to room 18 and we showed them how to record. This is how the process went. "Hello my name is Paris and whats your name,"........ "Thats a lovely name have a set."  We used the I pads for recording, They clicked on the camera and then slided the photo to the video they took out the book some thought the recording started and read the book before they pressed the button, They read the book aloud, I had to help them with some of the words, They would click stop and then they would review the recording, once I saw them getting bored of watching them selfs I taught them how to take photo one kid turned the camera on to me and so we took a photo together. One kid brought her princesses magazine in and so I read that to her she randomly reaches her arms out for a hug half way though. We went back to our old year 6 class to see our teacher, she was shocked when she saw us standing by the door. It so weird going back. After we went to burger king for lunch! Pics are coming soon.

G2. Give to your family: Prepare 3 formal three course meals.

Tonight I have diced up a wonderful dish.
For the main we have, nachos with sour cream.
For dessert we have, pancakes with Ice-cream or maple syrup.

Mum went to New World and got mince, tomato source, sour cream, pancake mix and chips. We got out a pan and turned the stove onto high, I put oil in it and waited for it to heat up, once it heated up I unwrapped the mince and put in the pan. I stirred it around for ages. While I was stirring the meat I was talking to my cat and dog we had a good conversation. Next I added the tomato sauce. I added just over half a bottle. I stirred it in and left it to sit for a while but stirred in every now and again. I set the table and put the mince into a bowl and opened up the sour cream and chips. We sat around the table and we stuffed our faces, it was really yum !

I cleared the table and made room to make the pancakes. We got a bottle that you just add water to to make the mixture. I turned on the pan and but the butter in it I poured the mixture around the pan so it looked like a circle. Once it started to bubble I turned it over and let the other side cook but I did burn them a bit. Then I put it on a plate I dished it out with ice-cream and maple syrup.    

My sport is better than yours.

Dear, Aimee.

I have asked you before to join gymnastics but you siad you not flexible enough. I was so not strong or flexible when I started gym but after training I could do every thing I wanted to do. It will take a while but you will become flexible it took me 4 years to become flexible and to be able to balance but don't worry. Every Wednesday after school we do your gym sessions in the gym at school it really fun because we set up for gym and we play around with all the equipment. You do lots a comps I done 4 comps in my years and you fell really good when you when medals and trophies. So I think it time you start a sport in the winter even though is freezing cold. So come on get training.
