And to my discus I saw a dead fly and to add to that the lettuces was fried, my Dad rang up the place and told them what had happend and there reply was " I give you free can of coke," my Dad said "no, I want other burger cooked better," and you could hear on the other end of the phone " I so sorry I will make one for free." "Yes thats better I will be down soon" said my dad. He went back down to the store and came back home and then I took my bite I had been waiting for all night.

When I was in Miri we went out for dinner at a 5 star restaurant and I ordered spaghetti bolognese and so did my Aunty. and it took almost and hour for it to come so during that hour my cousin and I asked if we could go into the bar and watch T.V we watched a cake so when the dinner came in we were yelling at the T.V because they were making the cake wrong. It came with parmesan cheese and I love parmesan cheese so I asked for more. The next day I woke up sick also that was he day we had a 8 hour car ride back to brunei and my Aunty and I was spewing up in the car it was the worst day of my holiday.

Science Fair Summary.

It took me ages to find a topic but I finally found one I did does V or Coke effect your heart rate?

I used my friend Amy and myself for this experiment we had a class of V and Coke at different times we checked our heart rate every 15 minutes and then recored on a chart.
I took my board home decorated it with a green back ground. I had to measure out the piece of paper one by one and glue them one. I wrote up my writing and then got it checked by Miss C and printed of my writing,  I stayed in at lunch and cut out my writing and glued it on my board. I had finished.

CAPTCHA.

Do you ever get sick of having to enter words at the botton of your comments to prove your not a robot? You are doing a little job for the world by entering those words, your saving old books!

It's called CAPTCHA. People scan words from the old books and put them at the end of you comments or posts to prevent spam and also to help them find out the words that are in the books that others can't read. They would use a computer to convert them but the computers are not as smart as us humans so they use us to translate them. They are translating around 2 hundred millon words a day it's surprising how big the internet is.

I used to play a game called Sky Wire it's like a roller coaster and it's set at theme park. You have 3 little people in a cart and you have stop when something is in your way you use the up key to go and the down key to stop. The people make funny noises when they fall out of the cart. You can play single player or multiplayer. The aim of the game is to get to the end with at lest one or more people in the cart. When you start the game it starts of easy but when you get near the end it get harder and harder.

Service in School and Community S6. Design your own challenge

This week I have chosen to design my own challenge and my home made challenge is teaching my international student 5 things that she wonders about New Zealand.

Challenge 1..

How new zealand Traffic lights work.
Minjus question. "I really really want to know why we push buttons on traffic lights?"
I got a bit carried away and demonstrated how traffic lights work and I used my wall stickers and put them on  the door like a traffic light and on each side of the room I had another set on traffic lights. I asked her what red mean? and she said "stop," I asked her what yellow mean? she siad "ready" I said confusedly "ready?" "it means slow down in New zealand," I said all teacher like and the next question was what does green mean? "go," she said, I am glad she knew that. I told her that we press the button so it tells the traffic lights when to stop and we can walk across the road.

Idiom

All in the same boat.

The meaning means that some people will be in  the same problems as others.

Example.
"I am over being in the middle of every thing," I said. "Me to," said Molly were all the same boat.

Self example
I hate being in the middle of every one when my friends fight.

My mum says a lot.
When I go though rough times she tells me to look at the glass half full than half empty.

Where did I get this saying come from ?
I couldn't find.

My Oma

My Oma is the most coolest grandma ever! Since my Grandma is dutch we call her Oma. She is retired but in her spare time she look after a little boy called eli. She lives in a home in Auckland that her and her husband build when my dad was 3. My Oma grew up in the Netherlands and moved to New Zealand when my dad was 1. My Oma wears red lipstick to make her look younger and she has short hair and she is very tall, I am up to her nose.
One day when my Oma was looking after El she took him to the park she saw that he was getting cold so she went to the 2 dollor store to by a beanie for him she saw one with a flower on it so she put on him and took him back home when his mum came to pick him up she realized that my Oma had brought him beanie with a marawina leaf on it and when she told us what happend we could stop laughing she is a crazy woman
One day she took my cousin and I to the movies in Wellington and there is dance floor in the middle of the room and my Oma went on it and jumped around with all the other kids it was so funny but really embarrassing. We went to go and vist Oma around 1 and half years ago all the boys went out for dinner and for dessert we had trumpets my Oma stuck the wrapping on her nose and started to be a chicken and we couldn't stop laughing and cousin fell of her chair and peed her pants.

G1. Give to children in need: Participate in the 20 Hour famine.

20 hour famine

9:00 in the morning I was telling my self to hurry up at get out of bed because at 12 I had to be in the car and off to Kates house. I got my stuff ready Pj's, tooth brush, hair brush, ice-cream and the most import thing clothes then I had breakfast. We got in the car and went to pick up Aimee, her sister answered the door and gave me a welcome hug and told me about her netball game. Aimee got her bags and cupcakes and we were on the road again, Aimee told us where Kates house was because I had never been there before.

When we arrived Jess and Kate were gooming the horses. We put our stuff inside and then had lunch. We were having hot dogs, Aimee was cooking the sausages, Jess was on hanging around, Kate was on cutting the buns and I was on grating cheese, I started grating and it sliped out of my hands so i tasted it and it was butter ! so the next day kate's brother had grated butter on his sandwiches. We went to Kates arena to ride the horses, Sophie Kates mum came with us Jess took Sam down, Aimee took Foxy, Kate took Brezze and I had Billy. I played around with Billy for a bit then I rode on Brezze, Sophie said I could try trotting so I did at the end I forgot to stop Brezze and Brezze headed for the jump, over he went then another jump in the last jump I was sliding off and I fell of Brezze, Aimee and Jess couldn't stop laughing I brused my bum but I was fine. I stopped riding and jumped jumps with Billy he is such a cool horse, he's my favorite one.

We came back and cleaned up the horses and feed them. We went to the room and set up for the night then we played then game of life, Kate won and I came last :( oh well. We talked for a bit and then we had home made pizza for tea they were really good. We iced Aimee's cupcakes well Kate and Aimee did Jess and I sat in the middle of kitchen don't ask why. I had a bite of the cupcake and by the end I was full. I always have room for ice cream, so I got out the ice cream and Kate and Jess made inset pudding. Ok this bit was so fun.  I dug a hole in the ice-cream and then got my coke and put in it the ice-cream was cool because I had an ice cream spider in the ice-cream tub. After all this  sugar I was going a bit crazy a did a hand stand flip on the couch I was really dun because I missed the couch and bruised my back. At 1 in  the morning Sophie had to tell us to go to sleep because we were making to much noise.

It was the morning and we had 2 hours left so we tidy up the room because it had paper every where and sprinkles from the cupcakes and our clothes all over the room. At 7:30 played another game of life I had the rest of my cupcakes I lost again and Kate won it's not my fult I got the bad job.  WE HAD SURVIVED we did it as soon as it had finished we watched tv for an hour and a half and had breakfast, tee-hee. By the way the photos were taken by Kates mum.

Charing laptops at school.

What are the negatives of Rimu students charing there laptops at school.
1. It cost almost $ 6450 a year for every student to rimu house to use a charger.
2 We could be spending $ 6450 on resources for us instead of power.
3 We would have around 30 chargers in the class by the end of the day.

What are two of the suggestions for solving problems.
1 Have 2 tickets and you can choose when we want to use during the year when we want to use them.
2 You should use your brains and charge them at night and if you don't work in a book or sit at the teachers desk.

I wonder and a why

Why do my eyes burn when I look at the the computer screen ?

It's because if you spend over more than 8 hours a day on your computer you might get itchy eyes, a blurry vision or a slight burn in your eyes it is because you are spending to much time on your computer. After 20 minutes on your laptop or home computer you should have a break or look at some thing 20 feet away. A Brisbane optometry professer Nathan Efron says "if you use you computer to much there is a chance that you will become short sighted. "

I wonder why ?

Why do I blink ?
We only blink for a tenth of a second but thats enough to get the dust and and things out of your eyes. when we have tears it goes in your eyes and when we blink it spreads it and that helps to keep our eyes clean and moisten our eyeballs. If your watching a program you might forget to blink and so it's a good idea to stop the program and have a time to blink !

P5- Complet in a sport for an entire season. Gymnastics

P5- Complet in a sport for an entire season.
Gymnastics

Every Thursday after school my Dad would take me to Argos gym in Papamoa I started there in 2007 for fun and then I got really into it and decided to go for competitions and a lot of other kids did to so we practiced for and hour and a half every Thursday. My favorite thing do do was the trampoline I didn't like the bar that much and I did have very good arm strength then so it

was very hard. First I would get changed into my leotarded then sit on the mat, the teacher would turn on the radio and we would warm up by doing straddle, rocks, and team challenges. We rotated around the beam, floor, bar and rope. After gym dad would take me home. My comp came around  fast and I can't remember what I came but I got 7 ribbons 3 very good 3 excellence and one merit.
After a year and a half the Papamoa gym closed and I still wanted to do gym so started at Tauranga Argos gym I went there for a year and did other competition after that year I stopped gym and did it though school. At that time I was at Tauranga Primary School and I did two comps there I came 6th in one and I was very happy with my scores, I can’t remember what I did on the other one. In year 6 I become a T.P.S cheerleader I was also doing gym that same year so it was good because I got more flexible and that was good because I can do more things now. My cheerleading team and I had 4 comps that year one a top schools and three at Argos. We had practice lots after school and during school but it paid of because we came first in top schools. For the comps at Argos we didn't do to well on the first one. We did heaps more practices for the 2nd comp and we came 3rd. Our final comp was good we came 2nd, Green park juniors came first and we came 2nd and Green park came 3rd so we were more the delight with our scores. I am still doing gym thought school and I have a comp coming up soon and I have done a lot of things this term like a back handspring, dive roll and a backwards walkover so I hope I do good with the comp! Here is a pic of the medals.

Things I want to know.

I wonder how?
How trampolines are so bouncy ?  How do clocks tick ?
How many countries there are ? How does perfume smell ?

I wonder why ?

Why do I blink ?  Why do we

17th Avenue Cemetery

On Friday room 42 went to the 17th Avenue Cemetery to do statistics we had to come up with a question to make a box and whisker plot or a steam and leaf graph. I was buddied up with Aimee, our question was how many grave yards have flowers on them Aimee and I walk around and counted all the flowers. A lady came to the Graveyard with 3 dog and they were running around over dead people and one dog whizzed on a head stone and pooed on the ground now the dead people will suffer from the smell. I was said sorry to all the dead I walked on. Afterwards we poured water on our hands because so we are not Tapu, then we got back with our buddy and walked back to school.
